I'm back! This time as a college senior, ready to embark on my first post-grad adventure.
I was recently accepted to teach English in the Académie de Montpellier! I'll be an assistant teacher with a 7-month contract, making a small salary & learning to live simply. Chicago, U.S.A for the summer, but come September I'm off to Europe!
To quote from frenchculture.org:
"The Teaching Assistant Program in France is a joint initiative of the French Ministry of Education, the Centre international d’études pédagogiques (CIEP) and the Cultural Services Department of the French Embassy in Washington, D.C. Its goal is to strengthen English-language instruction in the French educational system through the establishment of a native speaker presence. The program also provides future teachers of French in the United States with excellent teaching experience and first-hand knowledge of French language and culture."
I have to be honest, I'm certainly nervous for the upcoming year. Graduating is terrifying, this small hill in Ohio has been my home for the past four years. But get ready Europe - Denison is coming to you in the form of swags, mk & dre! Several of my friends will also be across the pond: Allison in England, Sarah teaching in Spain, Zach teaching in Germany, Katie studying in Barcelona, & MK teaching in Nantes. Abroad Round 2?! (but better)
Plan for this summer?

In any case, I'm excited to be back & blogging :)
