sooo after around 16 hours of traveling, i'm finally here in bath! my luggage transfered ok, and everything went smoothly. though i came close to missing my flight in dublin because it took nearly an hour of waiting in lines to clear customs there. i actually missed o'hare! so happy the traveling is done with for now though.
got to bath, was met by two of the program leaders, and eventually brought to my flat. the hill we're on puts denison's hill to shame...this thing is steep. and we're quite a walk from the classrooms / study center, so exercising won't be an issue. went out to dinner with the 7 other students in our flat at a french place, and am now back in for a bit before heading out again with a couple girls to start discovering the many pubs in bath.
it's so beautiful here! all the buildings are made of this gorgeous stone (bath stone...creative, right?), and all of them are super old. of course, it's very weird to see cars on the "wrong" side of the road, and i'm pretty happy i won't be driving. the roundabouts would kill me. but really, since bath is registered as a world heritage site, the architecture is amazing.
so, orientation stuff starts tomorrow, and i'll actually get to meet everyone on the program!
this semester is going to be amaaazing!
p.s. the picture is of the Royal Crescent, I live a couple blocks behind it
