as a denison alumni...

Here it is, my first blog post as a college graduate…

I know, I know…congratulations, 4 years of hard work, commencing a new chapter of our lives, there is more & better to come, great job, change the world, you’re going to France, etc.

But to be honest, yesterday was very possibly one of the worst days I’ve spent at Denison. Of course I’m happy to have graduated, and proud of the work I’ve done & how I’ve grown. Blah blah blah. When it comes down to it, it was the day that I left home, that most of my best friends spread out across the country & world, and that was complete and utter chaos. Senior Week was too much fun to sit & reflect on my four years here & what comes next, so here I am – driving the 8 hours back to Evanston with my parents – completely wrapped up in the leaving.

It’s a long drive, and this is supposed to be an exciting travel blog…so I’ll cut the emotions short with this:
Denison has been a home that has allowed & encouraged me to grow & learn in ways I never would have expected. I’ve made friends that I can hardly bear to part with, and only do with the hope & determination to maintain contact & the wonderful friendships developed on our hill. You all have enriched my life more than you know.

Love to my hill…
